NOTICE
In accordance with the Charter of the Town of Elsmere section 301, the Biennial Municipal Election was scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2023. The deadline for file as a candidate in this election was Monday, February 6, 2023, at 7:00pm. As of the filing deadline, the following candidates filed for office:
For the office of Mayor
Mr. Eric Scott Thompson was the only candidate to file for the office of Mayor and therefore, under the law he is automatically elected to office.
For 1st District Council
Ms. Marianne C. Skipski was the only candidate to file for the office of 1st District Councilperson and therefore, under the law she is automatically elected to office.
For 2nd District Council
Ms. Sally A. Jensen was the only candidate to file for the office of 2nd District Councilperson and therefore, under the law she is automatically elected to office.
For 3rd District Council
Ms. Mary A. Steppi was the only candidate to file for the office of 3rd District Councilperson therefore, under the law she is automatically elected to office.
For 4th District Council
No candidates filed for the office of 4th District Councilperson, therefore, a special election will be held beginning in May 2023.
For 5th District Council
Mrs. Joann I. Personti was the only candidate to file for the office of 5th District Councilperson and therefore, under the law she is automatically elected to office.
For 6th District Council
Ms. Dawn DiBiaso was the only candidate to file for the office of 6th District Councilperson and therefore, under the law she is automatically elected to office.
The Board of Election met on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, and determined that all candidates who have filed met the requirements to file and have all been deemed to have been elected. Therefore, the April 29, 2023, Biennial Municipal Elections is hereby cancelled.
